God doesn’t form His opinion of you through the views of those who know you. Our self-perception doesn’t even influence him. His original purpose for us shapes his thoughts about us. He made us for the relationship with Him. His mind is unchanged by our failures or even our successes. He only invites us to see ourselves and, subsequently, our reality as He does.
Every follower of Jesus can rest in the identity of being loved by the Father. The Father loves us just as Jesus is loved. When we lay down our tendency to be critical of ourselves and take up God’s view, we can live in perpetual confidence. We can be assured God is working in us and through us. In this place, we will be clothed in humility, and destiny will be fused into our daily activities.
